MISSION
and
PURPOSE
The
Young Women’s Initiative has been designed with the district purpose of
recruitment of our young women into the Women’s Missionary Society. This
initiative strives to motivate and mobilize young women under the age of 40 who
are called by God and are committed to mission work. In this new century, we
must be mindful that everything around us has changed since the implementation
of this great Connectional WMS in 1944. We must be able to respond to these
changes by incorporating the thoughts, actions, and knowledge of women’s
Initiative is here to address this need and deliver a more powerful and
technologically advanced Women’s Missionary Society in the 21st Century.
In keeping with our connectional
missions and purpose of the Young Women’s, we are challenged in the soaring
south Florida Conference to implement to a solid and motivating actions plan
that will insure our ultimate success in developing and maintaining a viable
young women’s group. The sole intent of the “Sessions project” is to provide
structure and cohesiveness for effective mobilization.
As we prayerfully embark upon this challenge, let us hold fast to our profession of faith and missionary ideals to mentor the young women’s for the call of Christ for such a time as this.
